Flashmob "the City in which I live". Alouisa. I love Cyprus.

The Flashmob subject about the city in which I live is not absolutely relevant for me. I live in the village.))) With the mysterious name Asomatos. What in translation from Greek means Incorporeal.
The village in honor of Saint Saint Michael the Archangel, incorporeal creation is called. As well as any village in Cyprus, it was under construction around the temple. Here is Saint Saint Michael the Archangel.
Around me wild nature: trees, flowers, animals, birds...
On a photo you see a plant a shpazhnik Italian (Gladiolus italicus). It is a wild gladiolus which at present years plentifully blossoms on meadows. In our corner of the world it is not placed in the Red List as it is not considered an endangered species.
This tuberous plant, perennial, blossoms in the middle of the calendar spring.
Its flowers small, the aroma is hardly felt... But their beauty and a bright purple shade are very attractive among spring greens.

My children collected to me a spring bouquet.))))

On a photo it is expensive in our vicinities---on both parties huge cypresses grow. In the summer on them there live millions of cicadas.
Every morning I go on this road to bring children to a garden.

. One of views of our village: the small park in the center elementary school on the right, behind high trees is also visible.
It is an architecture monument: temple of the Virgin Kormilitsy. It acting, it is opened on holidays and conduct services.
The temple is built of a stone. Historians consider that the basis of the temple belongs to the 11th century. Then it was repaired in the 13th century, made the changes characteristic of that period. And again in the 17th century. It was in dilapidated state when the decision on its reconstruction was made. Made repairs, replaced wooden parts, updated what was possible. The temple is considered a part of the monastery of Saint Nicholas.

But the most interesting waits for you further...
I want to tell and show the unique natural salt lake of the Region of Akrotiri.

Here a photo from flight altitude. It is huge! Its length is about 5 km. It is one of the largest lakes of east Mediterranean.
If to look at the card, the lake is well visible.
But many years ago---it is possible centuries, - it was a part of the sea, and Akrotiri's land the island. Then there were various cataclysms and we see the lake such as now.
Water in it salty. The lake is located below sea-level on 2.5 meters. It is filled at the expense of rains and underground waters from the sea. It is surrounded with wild vegetation which maintains such living conditions: droughts, floods, the scorching sun...
Depth of the lake reaches one meter, only...
And it is impossible to reach water in any way! These are impassable places for the person.
But favourite place of a wintering of the most various migratory birds! The lake is visited by about 400 different types of birds. Including, cranes.
And wild ducks are its constant inhabitants.
Last winter, as well as every year, on the lake there lived about 10 thousand birds of a flamingo! They like climate, they eat mollusks and small shrimps who live in salty water of the lake.

Pleasant weather conditions attract birds to a wintering.
Photos are made by professional photographers very strong lenses as it is impossible to get closer to birds! They are afraid of people.
If something frightens off them, they rise into the sky, move from danger.
In the evenings and to nights I can hear them "conversation" among themselves. They make a din as geese, approximately. Very probably! At night such silence around that frogs, shouts of birds, hum of a mosquito are heard...
Flamingos are beautiful in flight! They have huge strong wings! I observed how they fly up. Than - that are similar to swans...

And on this photo a unique black flamingo! For the first time it was seen in Israel a few years ago. This very unusual occurrence---its organism mutated and produces a lot of melanin.
I saw it this winter on the lake!!! We pass by every morning.

I remember the lake and here it... Unfortunately, in the most droughty years, water in the lake almost completely dried... Leaving salt layers on a surface. We with the husband then rode bicycles on the region of the lake, as well as many other fans of sport.
It was a pity to see the lake dry... The periods of a drought happen each 7 years.
Now from - for road rains are flooded with water there and it is impossible to pass / pass.
Many tourists for some reason think that they can approach the lake. And often asked the road,---how to pass?
I always say to them: Do not try to reach there! The car zagruznt in dirt.
It is possible to look at the lake only from far away and it is better to do it from the village of Akrotiri, from the hill.

What I also made this morning.
Unfortunately, the camera of my phone will not be compared to professional lenses of photographers.
Here view from the hill. The lake is not really far, but the phone camera "distanced" it.
There is zoom: it is possible to consider small white points on water is birds. Are visible Mount Troodosa, still call it the Olympus. On them snow lies, dropped out last night.
We have rains now. In a rebag with a bright sun.

And here is even closer. It is only a part of the lake---it stretches far to the right of this place, almost to the coast of the sea. But buildings prevent me to make a photo.

Now on the lake there are not a lot of birds, it "has a rest" from visitors... Also restores the microflora.
Flamingos flew away there where and the plentiful forage is them well. But they will fly again!
