Flashmob "The city in which I live". Ivetta-52. Shakhty of the Rostov region

To this city with the strange name I came to study in the summer of 1969: here the new higher education institution opened. I wanted to enter the Moscow institute, but parents persuaded: to the house to go from Shakhty only one night, the South, means warm clothes it is not necessary much, well and life in Moscow – is more expensive!

The city was pleasant to me: silent, there are a lot of greens, in shops – a variety of products. The miner's cities were supplied then on 1 class! Surprised only the waste heaps surrounding the city similar to pyramids of Egypt: these are mountains of elimination at coal mining of black color:

Now there are no waste heaps any more: used elimination in a roadwork!

Now it is just main building because all at higher education institution – 9 cases in different districts of the city. Only the second building near the main thing is built:

After the termination of higher education institution I became the teacher of "Modelling, Designing and Design of a Suit" department. So, all my labor life passed in walls of institute which became then academy, and I retired already from the university!

The pioneer settlement appeared in this area in 1805, but the status of the city was received only 1867 by order of Alexander II. In honor of it the city was also called: Aleksandrovsk-Grushevsk renamed after revolution. Until the initial name was returned – economically not favourably. Therefore we have the main street - Soviet, in the center still there is Revolyutsii Avenue, surely there is Lenin Street and a monument too!

But to the tsar Alexander II too the monument was established near my higher education institution about 5 years ago:

Near higher education institution there is a City museum. Earlier there was a gymnasium in which the grandfather of my husband worked as the teacher of the Russian literature:

There is in the city a good drama theater. It was constructed by captured Germans, and reconstruction was in the late eighties made. The theater became very beautiful inside and convenient: easy and wide chairs, marble on walls and on a floor, mirrors everywhere!

Blessed Virgin Mary's Cathedral was in the early eighties restored:

Our city is included in the Guinness Book of Records: we have most of all champions of the Olympic Games per capita! There is even Chempionov Avenue in which center billboards with Vasily Alekseev, Victor Tregubov, David Rigert's portraits, etc. are established. Generally our champions were engaged in weightlifting, but there are experts and on bullet firing, and at track and field athletics. This avenue right at the beginning:

On a photo – young Vasily Alekseev, it I for the first time saw it at a meeting with students of our higher education institution. He set 80 world records in heavy weight, two times was a gold medallist of the Olympic Games in 1972 and 1976. Unfortunately, died in 68 years.

I live in the city 51 years. I saw also blossoming of the city, and - decline. At first the cotton plant (CP) which products were excellent quality was constructed. Then at shoe factory bought the Italian equipment and began to release shoes from textiles with an embroidery and sneakers of a molding method of fastening. In Moscow, in Central Department Store it was possible to see the announcement: "There is no Shakhty footwear on sale". Our footwear scattered quickly as hot pies!

The Shakhty Tile plant and the plant of the Reinforced concrete equipment was still constructed. And the Hydraulic actuator plant releases the hydraulic equipment 40 years! The products are in demand and in the Russian Federation, and – abroad.

In difficult 1990th years everything fell into decay. First, mines were closed. The miners receiving very high salary by the standards of Soviet period fell into a difficult situation. In the city there was almost a hunger! When the city was visited by Nemtsov, some woman started in it an empty pan, nearly got into the head! There is no huge shoe factory any more, in its buildings now – shopping centers. The hydraulic actuator works, and on HBK and on "The Shakhty tile" - only some shops function.

Here the Gloria Jeans garment factory prospers. There are at it Italian and American lines. A part of products goes to these countries.

There were many big and small shops, drugstores and beauty shops. The pandemic introduced the amendments: there were many "Chebureks-houses" and "Foam boutiques"!

There is practically no work in the city. Many leave who - where. Most of all – to Moscow and Moscow area, to Rostov. The shift method gained distribution: work as watches with Belarus, with the central regions of Russia is well adjusted.

But in the city still in the spring and there are a lot of greens, flowers, in the market in the summer – fruit and vegetables. Here my house, family, friends!

I love this city, though I seek every summer to the city of the youth – Novorossiysk because very much I love the sea!
