I often should answer a question by what criteria it is necessary to select yoga-studio and/or the yoga coach.
I will share the reasons. It will be 12 criteria. But also it is possible that you will specify in comments, your own criteria which will help to make the decision to all who decided to change the life through occupations yoga, well or just to beginners in this subject.
In the beginning be defined that attracts you more - improvement, the yoga philosophy, including spirituality or is enough Hatha yoga without reasonings on a spiritual component.
On one pole of yoga-studio remind cozy sects with the rituals, regular retrita to Goa, in Mountain Altai or in any other fine corner of the planet. There carry often out something like tea ceremonies or Ayurvedic seminars, and most of participants vegans, vegetarians or syroyeda. I have no share of scepticism in this respect. All, who are engaged in similar studios - physically perfect, spiritually clarified people, very advanced in meditations and work from a kundalina, prefer ethnic motives in clothes style, perhaps, they are not really practical in real life (not all!), and all are very esoteric. Also I noticed that in such studios or the convinced bachelors and holostyachka, or married couples.
Choose similar studio if you want to come off the transitory earth a little.
On other pole - yoga-classes about a theory minimum, practically and never (without emergency) tell anything about chakras, but a maximum of physical activity. Here on the first place - anatomy and biomechanics. In these classes participants seek to master the most difficult asanas. Everything is technical, pragmatic and purposeful. Teachers are very advanced, with author's proramma or rather distinct line of yoga-products for different level of training.
Choose similar studio if you want to strike in several years the world with the perfect lotus, balance on hands, a cross split and other wonderful poses.
Yoga-therapy stands alone. Choose studio with the yoga-therapist if you have problems with a backbone or other diseases or injuries. Here the certified yoga-therapists who even in group occupations will strictly maintain individual approach taking into account your diagnosis or age work.
2) The experienced trainer, yoga studio with big history and recommendations
If you at all never practiced yoga and decided on Paragraph 1), then choose the experienced trainer conducting group of beginners. You can estimate experience of the coach according to his summary (it has to be available to viewing on the website or in promo-materials of the yogi of studio. The experienced trainer quickly comes into contact with any pupil, tests the level of physical training of the newcomer, warning about all possible inconveniences, experiences and physical feelings which expect the beginner.

If yes is a good trainer. Because if the trainer does not adjust, does not explain, does not keep track of correctness of performance of asanas - you can be traumatized or fix in memory wrong and injury-causing provisions of parts of a body or an asana in general.
5) The clothes of the trainer have to emphasize his figure, muscles and joints
Though there will be those who will want to challenge this criterion, I insist on it for beginners. If the trainer in wide wide trousers under which the body is not visible - I do not recommend it. At the trainer it has to be well visible how muscles and joints when the trainer shows a pose work. That is the clothes have to be fitting.
6) Warm-up - a warming up of muscles before the main complex
Before to carry out the main poses, there has to be a small warm-up warming up, for example - a complex Surya Namaskar (A morning greeting to the Sun) or other potyagushechka.
7) Rhythmical and dynamic occupations or slow, with fixing of a pose
To the beginner I recommend to choose what most corresponds to character. There are dinamichy occupations / styles of yoga where the pose is held rather not for long, and asanas quickly replace each other. And is in slow yoga-style each asana maintain sometimes up to several minutes. Phlegmatic persons and melancholiacs will choose slow execution and the fixed poses more likely. And here it can be boring for sanguine persons and choleric persons, I witnessed as people refused occupations yoga for this reason.
I emphasize, it is important for beginners. For those who already reached at least the average level usually interestingly to improve itself in different styles and rhythms.
Nothing is better than another. Just choose optimum and the most comfortable for a body and soul the speed of execution of asanas and a rhythm of all occupation. Usually it is felt on trial occupation at once.
8) Any pressure from the instructor
The good trainer or the yoga instructor does not insist on obligatory performance of an asana which causes in you strong discomfort. Difficult asanas can be mastered later.
The good trainer also understands that technology of execution of asanas accustoms for months and years and will not promise you superfast results. Though in my practice there were surprising cases when beginners very quickly reached high degree of flexibility in asanas.
9) Individual approach
It is especially important for the beginner! The people who reached the average level of execution of asanas can go to classes with other motivation and not contact to the trainer personally. But to the beginner the attention of the trainer is important. The good instructor is capable to contact with each pupil even on group occupation. It is necessary not only to keep track of correctness of execution of asanas, but also for moral and psychological support. Some stop practicing yoga because they begin to have complex, comparing themselves to other participants of group.
10) Conditions for occupations
It is necessary to begin occupations with yoga where to you it will be most comfortable. For example, exist yoga of studio with high temperature of the room for occupations - it helps to warm well muscles and to achieve quickly results in a muscle strain, but it is contraindicated for people with elevated pressure.
It is better for some to choose studio where the room is well aired and where it is cool. Anyway rugs for occupations should not be slippery, also take with yourself a small towel and a small bottle with water.
11) Shavasana
Any occupation yoga has to come to an end with shavasany. If the trainer does not do it, I do not recommend such studio of the yogi. Shavasana is not just to lie down and meditate. First of all it helps to calm and restore muscles and joints after intensive loading. Besides, during the occupations the yoga thanks to muscle work in a body distinguishes huge amount of energy, and a shavasan this energy kind of structures, evenly distributing on all body and also well influences the sensual and emotional sphere, balancing with it.
12) Water procedures
Perhaps, I will disappoint someone or I will surprise with this point, but I will agree to differ anyway - in the correct yoga-studio the trainer does not recommend to take a shower right after the occupations yoga as from the power point of view water procedures have to be PRIOR TO occupations yoga or at least in two hours after classes.
