Diabetes diet (a diet at diabetes)
The basis of this power supply system is the so-called diet No. 8 developed by M.I. Pevzner for treatment of a metabolic syndrome. Here the basic principles of the offered diet:
- Food has to be low-calorie, no more than 1500-1800 kcal a day. Decrease in caloric content is reached by reduction of carbohydrates and partially fats.
- – it is no more than 180-200 g of carbohydrates in day in day. For this purpose the products demanding splitting or which are quickly split and the soaking-up carbohydrates are completely excluded from food (it is sugar, jam, honey, candies, chocolate, cakes, cakes, fancy bread). Grain and pasta are sharply limited.
- Amount of bread - up to 100-150 g a day, it is mainly necessary to eat rye bread.
- We exclude the hot spices stimulating appetite.
- Amount of salt – up to 5 g a day
- To increase a share of vegetable fats, they have to make a half from daily consumption of all fats (about 80 g). To use vegetable oils for preparation of dishes, and butter and sour cream can be eaten in a small amount and only as a part of dishes.
- Preference – vegetables and unsweetened fruit. They can be eaten in unlimited number.
- The recommended unsweetened fruit: apples, lemons, oranges, cranberry. In the natural form and compotes without sugar.
- The recommended vegetables: cabbage, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, green peas, turnip, garden radish. In a crude, boiled or stewed look.
- Potatoes are limited to 200 g a day.
- Protein – in number of 100-110 g a day. Meat dishes – the boiled or baked, fast beef or a low-fat bird.
- Fish in a boiled look (a cod, a hake, a pike, other low-fat grades).
- Dietary sausages, doctor's sausage are resolved.
- From dairy products low-fat milk, fermented milk products is possible skim cheese (100-200 g a day).
- Soups – vegetarian, 1-2 once a week it is possible on weak meat broth or fish broth.
- A garnish for second courses – vegetables.
- The amount of liquid in day – is no more than 5-6 glasses (including soup, milk, kefir, compote). These are 1.8 l a day.
- To eat food of 5-6 times a day.
- Fasting days are useful!

The first breakfast. 8-30
Boiled fish (100 g), vegetable vegetable oil salad (150 g), a glass of coffee with milk without sugar.
The second breakfast.
100 g of fresh apples.
Lunch. 14-00
Half-portions of vegetarian Russian cabbage soup (250 g), meat boiled (55 g), a garnish vegetable (100 g), apples compote without sugar (1 glass).
Afternoon snack. 16-00
Dogrose broth (1 glass), skim cheese (100 g).
Dinner. 19-00
Boiled meat (55 g), ragout from vegetables (150 g).
For the night
1 glass of kefir.
For all day – 150 g of rye bread.
Fasting days
These days it is possible to use a small amount of the same product. Spend fasting days at diabetes once a week. Try such days:
- meat (during the day only 400 g of boiled meat without salt)
- cottage cheese (400-600 g of skim cheese with 2 glasses of tea or coffee with milk without sugar)
- fruit, berry, vegetable (1.5 kg of fruit, berries or vegetables in day)
- kefiric or prostokvashny (1.6 l of this or that drink during the day).
Consult to the doctor about gormonozamenitelny therapy. These are medicines which allow to compensate the deficiency of estrogen typical for diabetic female. Besides, for women in the menopause period such medicines can not only facilitate a state, but also suspend age withering.
