17х4 Diet
Still it is called a diet "17-day", but nevertheless it is more fair to designate it 17х4 as it consists of four periods which are replaced each 17 days in each cycle – the diet. Thus, you receive the plan of weight loss for 68 days. The diet by doctor Mike Moreno, the family doctor from California is developed, and recently became very popular for those who wish to lose weight effectively.In America there were even delivery services of food which strictly follow plans of a 17-day diet.
Initially the diet was developed to help people to support healthy weight, and to unload after overeating on holidays. But smoothly flowed in a diet which is suitable also for loss of weight. Actually, the diet consists of three stages for 17 days, the fourth 17-day stage is performed at will, however it is very much recommended for maintenance of result.
The main idea of a diet – acceleration of metabolism by creation of a certain "metabolic confusion" which finally also works for acceleration of a metabolism and combustion of fat.
As for physical activities, according to a diet, in day at least 17 minutes of intensive trainings, six days a week are necessary.
All four cycles it is necessary to eat exclusively natural products, the ban on sugar and fried dishes. The recommended products: eggs, meat of a turkey, chicken breasts, seafood, yogurt, grapefruit, berries, salad, broccoli, Brussels sprout, tomatoes, cucumbers, asparagus, green tea.
And now we will address to the basic principles of food.
Cycle 1. Acceleration (from 1 to 17 day)
The first cycle is the most strict in terms of food caloric content. It is daily necessary to consume 1200 calories, the main requirement to products – the low content of carbohydrates. What is possible: fast meat (it is possible in rather large numbers), the fat-free dairy products, fruit, not starched vegetables, green tea. A large amount of water for faster weight reduction is obligatory. At this stage weight is lost quickly enough, the metabolism accelerates. On the first cycle, as envisioned by Moreno, about 10-12 pounds of weight (4.5 - 5.5 kg) are lost.
The approximate menu per day for the first cycle:
Breakfast: Fried eggs, Grapefruit, 1 cup of green tea
Lunch: 2 boiled eggs, lettuce leaves, carrots, broccoli, onions and tomatoes salad
Afternoon snack: Yogurt without sugar with fresh berries
Dinner: chicken breast on couple, vegetables on couple (carrots and an asparagus)
Cycle 2. We do not allow to stop (18-34 day)
Many growing thin know that after a certain stage of fast loss of weight, there comes so-called "plateau", weight rises. That to avoid it, the second stage is carried out in the so-called dotted mode. We alternate days from high caloric content to very low. The biggest caloric content which it is possible to allow – 1500 calories. It will not allow a metabolism "to settle". Such equipment is called "prevention of metabolism from delay". Besides, if in the first cycle we cut off ourselves in carbohydrates, then in the second they are resolved though in general, products remain the same. If in the first cycle you generally lost water weight, then at this stage combustion of fat accelerates.
The approximate menu per day for the second cycle:
Breakfast: cookies without sugar and salt or fresh small loafs, a fresh peach, green tea
Lunch: chicken salad, brown rice,
Afternoon snack: fruit yogurt without sugar
Dinner: a salmon on a grill with vegetables
Cycle 3. Main achievements (35-51 days)
The stabilization period, the main attention on development of the principles of healthy food. At this stage loss of weight more modest, than on previous. We give preference to fruit, wholegrain products. We limit fast meat. No more than 100 calories on some goodies are possible daily, in day it is also possible one glass of light alcohol.
The approximate menu per day for the third cycle:
Breakfast: a wheaten toast, the hard-boiled egg, grapefruit, green tea
Lunch: Caesar Salad with chicken.
Afternoon snack: wheaten toast, fresh fruit, green tea
Dinner: Pork fillet, salad, green tea
Cycle 4. The last (52-68 day)
Final stage. Still we focus on healthy food, all recommendations about a diet from the previous cycles in force. During week-end it is authorized to exceed caloric content. It is supposed that desirable weight is already reached.
The approximate menu per day for the fourth cycle:
Breakfast: omelet, grapefruit, green tea
Lunch: a fried salmon on lettuce leaves, green tea
Dinner: stake, Caesar Salad, baked sweet potatoes, two glasses of red wine
Pluses and minuses of a diet 17х4
Certain plus is that any group of products as it happens in other radical diets is not excluded from a diet. Attention to daily sports activities – also positive fact. Perfectly and the fact that the diet offers the various menu and also quite fast loss of weight (practically during the first two 17-day cycles).
Refer recurrence of food which as a result can result in lack of discipline and the plan of food to minuses. The diet is not suitable for patients with diabetes!
