Work number 3: Secretary

Many girls start the career from work of the secretary. At me it happened that I passed to this work at solid age (41 years). So it turned out that the previous secretary retired, and the chief asked me to work temporarily at this position, without loss in salary in comparison with the previous work. Well I also agreed. And now I am a secretary.

The enterprise at us big, I am the secretary to management of the second level (at which is in submission of nearly 1000 people) and two of his deputies.
The people to a reception to them go constantly, almost like to the mausoleum. Therefore there is no time to miss.
Constantly 3 phones keep ringing, the fax crackles, new letters in mail "tinkle".

About what belongs to duties of the secretary, likely all know: record keeping, business correspondence, a meeting and distribution of visitors, execution of various papers for the head, the organization of meetings and meetings, and still a heap of any additional requests and instructions.

By the way, I very badly remember people in appearance. From the first or second time I will definitely not remember. But being the secretary and seeing all visitors constantly, slowly "learned" their appearance.

Except skills of communication with the computer and the office equipment, our secretary needs to know Russian on 5 with plus. As mistakes and typos in the documents issued by the deputy director are inadmissible. And in any other documents. With it it is very strict.
It is always also necessary to look decently that the appearance not to discredit the solid status of the company. At the same time it is very pleasant to receive several times a day compliments from visitors, it lightens the mood.
However, chocolates packs do not carry as it was in the movie "Office romance". Only for March 8 and for New year often bring sweet gifts.

(By the way, I do not serve some coffee to chiefs and I do not wash the dishes. They have a coffee machine in an office, and there themselves and guests served).

Well and traditionally pluses and minuses of a profession:

Pluses:
- not boringly, the whole day you communicate with different people (and people all different such, who polite, who impudent, who cheerful who the bore who silent who noisy... it is amusing to observe);
- you master skills of business correspondence;
- easy work.

Minuses:
- if the chief with bad character gets, then it seems to me that work will turn into discharge of a negative, and it is better to leave from there (but I in this plan was lucky)
- a profession many consider it some low-grade. Type if the secretary the young girl, then she by default renders erotic services, service, a tea coffee gift and so forth. If the secretary aged, with the higher education, then "is visible more do not take anywhere".
