Preliminary contrast rubdowns can enhance effect of a contrast shower. Besides, rubdowns are useful also in itself (as they increase the resilience of vulnerable areas of a body to a frost). And successfully the local cooling bathtubs are capable to replace them (for example, for legs).

Among other ways of water hardening well proved washings as cold water, the bathings in heated pools (with preliminary warm-up) cooling rinsings of a throat.

2. Cryotherapy
In fact, it can be considered a kind of hardening which consists in impact on an organism of ultralow temperatures.
