Symphony of semi-precious stones: "Fly my moth …"

Works by Aleksandra Filippova are improbable strokes of impressions about travel, about sense of life and the highest force, about interaction of this world with us … Perhaps, it and not absolutely jewelry, and small stories about life.

Aleksandra in Balashikha, the Moscow region was born. Graduated from the Moscow prospecting institute, it is the mining engineer – the geologist. Studied at Institute of Technology at faculty interior design. Since the childhood she draws, is engaged in rock-climbing and mountaineering. 15 years worked as the geologist at Institute of Oceanology of P. P Shirshov, participated in expeditions to the Arctic. Member of Creative Labor Union of Artists.

The artist generally works with silver and natural stones, white metal is the canvas grounded by white paint on which its improbable composite decisions are embodied. The teacher and the mentor in jewelry with gratitude considers Alik Aliaskarov.

Through all works by Aleksandra Filippova the thin subject of one-day moths – podyonok is looked through. Mayflies — gentle winged insects, representatives of Ephemeroptera group — some of the most ancient inhabitants of our planet.

Agonal dance of mayflies is surprisingly beautiful. These lungs and gentle insects with transparent wings live only one day or even several hours, without needing food. All of them together leave larvae to dance marriage dance in the sky and to die. Their characteristic weeds it is possible to observe in the quiet serene evening. At the beginning, quickly waving wings, mayflies soar up up. Then they fade also thanks to the big surface of wings slowly as on a parachute, go down. Such dance from take-off and smooth falling of a mayfly is made during reproduction.

Each work is unique and is executed in a single copy by means of a carving on wax model, with the subsequent assembly of details and casting in silver. The copy of work cannot be made. These products are distinguished not only by high quality skill of execution, sharpness of professional – an art look, but also amazing ability of harmonious connection of different forms and materials in uniform composition.

Aleksandra Filippova is very thin, versatile and creative nature having the huge potential of the various art ideas and owning masterly technological execution. In spite of the fact that the modern jewelry world is rather conservative, for Aleksandra it is very important to move forward constantly. She will not agree to repeat for anything things from the former collections since these emotions are already experienced by it and consigned to the past.




Suspension "The sad fish hurrying on a ball" is extraordinary original work where will emphasize a sad and thoughtful image with human lines that increases special expressiveness of character. The noble combination of natural stones - beryl and cyanite, very beautifully supplements nielloed silver.

In other work: the Octopus under an Umbrella pendant, magnificent saturated cyanite kind of highlights the polished surfaces of silver. The image of an octopus with an umbrella is solved surprisingly lyrically, poetically and with subtle humour.

Strikes with the composite decision and the Winter Sovushka pendant solved incredibly witty and with deep philosophical meaning. This mysterious story of an owl in mountain ash berries from bright natural garnets, casts thoughts of Winter's Tale and a magic New Year's Eve.





The originality and versatility of the art ideas of Aleksandra Filippova are distinctive feature of art creativity. Improbable mysterious images and graphic motives are surprisingly laconically stylized in the Latimeriya pendant. This is the only kistepery fish who lived up to now, one of live minerals, living 400 million years ago. The pendant is cut out from wax and cast in silver with elements of gilding and natural chrysolites, chromdiopside and rhodonite.

In original and colourful composition - a suspension of Piero, multi-colored sapphires decorate the big elegant collar solved very decoratively, effectively and with the liberated imagination. The accurate grafichnost and angularity of the face of Piero emphasize a sad and sad image. The extended, sharp, slanting and sharp lines from nielloed silver, give to an image Gothic expressiveness. It precisely defines at once an emotional and semantic spirit of composition.


These works are so individual and laconic that in them each idea of the author and its artistic realization is precious, they just shake by the accord of accurately thought over details, fine feeling of the invoice of metal and amazing ability of harmonious use of natural stones.




Well also three other compositions of Aleksandra Filippova are thought over: ring "Belief. Hope. Love", a ring "The whole world – theater" and the Spring pendant where the courageous expressive form of each work just bewitches the harmony. All details are subordinated to internal regularities and energy. In the first composition Vera's image is solved in the form of the Celtic cross, Nadezhda's image – in the form of the hope ship, and the symbol of Love is heart. Belief, Nadezhda and Lyubov – three virtues and three important components in human life. The second work most brightly represents all saturation and eccentricity of art thinking of the author, and his high level of skill. The subject of theater is opened with surprising taste and art skill.

The third work "Spring" differs in ease of flight, three-dimensional motion and asymmetry in composition. The head of the young girl at which in hair dreams in the form of bunches of chrysolites and amethyst are kind of twisted looks very laconically and effectively.




The brightest works by Aleksandra Filippova are brilliantly performed works where the flight subject is opened: Humming-bird and Mayflies pendants. These works have emphasized nobility of the natural stones shaking on beauty. Accurately traced distinguished lines and successful stylization of images form graceful and easy compositions. These works differ in the most difficult jewelry technology of execution. The author perfectly feels metal and perfectly owns various ways of invoicing of a surface of silver.
