About treatment of type 2 diabetes we carry on a conversation with the manager of endocrinological office, the doctor of higher category Elena Sinitsyna.

– Dear Elena Nikolaevna, in what feature of your approach to this disease?

– Both at diagnostics, and at treatment we use an integrated system approach and surely we consider specific features of the patient. At the same time the identity of the doctor creating a treatment algorithm is prevailing.

All of us are natives of the Soviet Union, got a fundamental education and therefore system thinking is a feature of our character. The overall performance of clinic is defined by three main components.

The first is the carefully thought over, evidence-based diagnostic program "Life without Diabetes". It allows us to obtain the most detailed information on a condition of an organism of the patient.

The second component is a high-quality treatment on the basis of the international standards.

– Whether there are objective criteria for evaluation of efficiency of treatment?

– Certainly. According to the international standards such criteria are the glikirovanny (candied) hemoglobin, cholesterol level, excess weight. Level of glikirovanny hemoglobin at the healthy person should not exceed 6%. At diabetics it can reach 13%.

– In your diagnostic program there are analyses on an infection. What relation do they have to diabetes?

– The most direct! At diabetes the amount of carbohydrates (glucose) in blood increases. And they are the most powerful power source for all live. Imagine a warehouse of money (glucose) which is badly protected (at diabetics the immunity is reduced). As long money will remain in a warehouse – a matter of time.

And at diabetics: the infections parasitizing on glucose only also wait for an opportunity to take root and breed in an organism. And this factor is often underestimated.

He allows to estimate quantitatively balance of oxidizing and antioxidant systems in a human body and to classify its state from norm to extreme degree of risk.

– So why carbohydrates, the most valuable power source, are not demanded by an organism?

– Actually, it is the main question of diabetology. Our answer is surprisingly simple – deficiency of oxygen. Only the oxidized glucose is acquired by a cage. But, unfortunately, significance is not attached to this fact. Only the percentage of glucose and oxygen 50/50 gives to a cage the maximum quantity of energy.

At type 2 diabetes this ratio changes towards the expressed reduction of oxygen and, respectively, sharp increase in carbohydrates. The cage begins to receive less energy that leads to a metabolic disorder and, as a rule, increase in weight.

– Whether it means that after physical activity, for example small foot walk, sugar level in blood falls because of increase in an oxygen organism?

– Yes, you are absolutely right. Actively arriving oxygen oxidizes glucose and utilizes it in a cage. Therefore do not forget that reasonable physical activity is a necessary component of treatment and maintenance of the state it is normal.

– What, in your opinion, the deficiency of oxygen in an organism of the diabetic of the second type is connected with?

– The reasons can be a little. The first and the main from them is a stress. At a stress hormones adrenaline and tiroksin are produced. They promote active consumption of oxygen. The second reason is chronic slow inflammatory processes in lungs.

We find mikoplazmenny or chlamydial pneumonia which strike structure of lungs in many diabetics and cause deficiency of oxygen. For this reason in the diagnostic program "Life without Diabetes" we conduct researches on infectious agents.
