The real Russian winter I met in the New Year's capital of Russia

Read the name of a competition and understood: the New Year's adventure is and there is what happened to me. On January 2 we with the husband took and went to Kirov and stayed till Christmas there. Not spontaneously broke, no. And tickets bought in advance, and apartments needed to be reserved. By the way, train tickets are a separate trash. Long ago it was not that it is necessary to catch, watch for. Every day came into the application of the Russian Railway, left the application for the return route. But this application worked only when we already were in way. And by then I already snatched two tickets. However, bought on one in different days. For two once did not appear. In free access all this time there were only SV and a compartment for disabled people. Both – not our option. So we went by different cars. But it is insignificant nuance. It is simple if by the time of departure would not be on hands of the return tickets, we would not go. Too risky. To go and be nervous in way it is absolutely uninteresting. There is a wish to enjoy a trip.

Generally, it turned out as it turned out. But not about that I wanted to tell. And about the nice city on Vyatka. This winter Kirov which in the summer celebrated the 650 anniversary met in the status of the New Year's capital of Russia. Now it is already history, on January 7 Kirov gave this title of Ryazan. In Ryazan, though not New Year's, it happened to be, and here in Kirov I never was before. And it was the excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the beautiful ancient city.


Only for the sake of the real winter landscapes it was worth breaking. When we left the house, we had not a so winter impassability of roads, almost spring thaw and ice. Br-r-r. If did not leave, would stay at home because in such weather does not pull at all to walk. And in Kirov only also did that stamped on streets. A snow crunch under legs and ice cold air seemed happiness! In one evening there was just fantastic snowfall!

Kirov, it Vyatka, he is Hlynov – in different years the city was called differently - has the color. As tell local, on Vyatka the orders. Numerous souvenirs confirm it. Here what phrases print on magnetics: "Chyo is fine with you?", "Come in a bath to obzdanutsya?", "All harmony!". Oh this lovely Vyatka patter … Sellers and everything with whom it was necessary to communicate, steadily asked from where we. According to the speech it was clear that we are obviously not local.


At the station in Kirov we were met by "the Vyatka Hachiko". It is a monument to a dog whose fate is not less dramatic, than the well-known Japanese Akita. They say, owners left Naidoo at the station, and she faithfully waited for them several weeks return... But behind her nobody returned. However Naidoo was taken away by local volunteers.

In the park it was succeeded to sweep on "Big wheel" and to get a bird's eye view of the city. Yes, there this attraction works also in the winter, cabins with heating. And near it – other surprising sight. A nonfreezing pond and falls which beats in the winter. Or rather, pond even two: top and lower. A rough cascade water flows from one in another. There is no ice, there ducks quietly swim. We have someone from Kirov? Very much there is a wish to learn how it is arranged how at minus 15 on the street the falls do not freeze.


The cultural program included visit of museum of local lore and art museum of Vasnetsovykh. In the last – fine cloths of Repin, Surikov, Kuindzhi, Kustodiyev, Petrov-Vodkin and other eminent painters. And of course, Victor and Apollinariya Vasnetsovykh's works. The Vyatka province is Vasnetsovykh's homeland. Still visited the museum of ice cream. Impressions, frankly speaking, not all that well. But ice cream tasty – for this thanks.

Pedestrian Spasskaya Street became one of the main places of an attraction of citizens and guests of Kirov - it is the local Arbat with picturesque sculptures, souvenir shops and delicacies. In New Year's days there took place the All-Russian festival of fir-trees.




The long line built in 89 fir-trees. On number of Russian regions. All trees local, and here jewelry - from regions. At each fir-tree - the unique color. However, it is visible that someone very much tried, and someone belonged formally or, probably, did not find on it means. Branded ornament on a fir-tree of the Kirov region - toys with the Dymkovo painting. On a fir-tree of the Orenburg region - down spheres with large knitting. Tyumen struck with huge pelmeni. Ryazan has mushrooms. Chukotka Autonomous Okrug has tails of whales on Christmas balls.



We went and admired. In the afternoon of a fir-tree are good, in the evening with the burning garlands - is even more more beautiful!
