"Brooch with a St.George's Ribbon and a Carnation" ornament

Preparation for the Victory Day for me is connected with creation of special solemn jewelry with a St.George's Ribbon in recent years.

Sometimes I hear a talk that it is several "to scoff blasphemously at the St.George's Ribbon". But for me it not just ornament, and a tribute to the memory of all heroes of the Great Patriotic War. And in the jewelry I do not scoff at a memory symbol, and on the contrary, kind of I bring flowers, honor, a tribute. I decorate and try to draw even more attention to the most recognizable symbol of memory.

And now I want to tell and show a little in more detail how I create them.

This year my brooches with the St.George's Ribbon decorate carnations from foamiran. It is material, new to me. I began to try it in work this winter. But at once estimated simplicity and ease of its use.

And so to be necessary for us for work the piece of a St.George's Ribbon of long 25-30 cm. I bought it in shop for needlework where different types of tapes are on sale. It is better to take that which is thicker, i.e. 35 mm wide. Usually for a holiday distribute thin ribbons, 25 mm wide. They can be used too, but thicker looks much more beautifully.
Besides, the brooch base will be required. Instead of it it is possible to use a pin.

We put the St.George's Ribbon so that the eyelet was formed. We sew to a reverse side or we paste a basis for a brooch or a pin.

Now we start creation of a floret.
We cut out two circles from the sheet of red foamiran different in the size. It is possible to take some lid from cream and to lead round it. I have diameter of a big circle there are about 5 cm. For cutting the zigzag is the best of all to use figured scissors or tailor's scissors. Or independently to do edges of a circle uneven, making an incision it cloves.

Further we put a circle in half and once again in half. We do cuts from edges to the center, but without reaching about 1 cm.

Then there occurs the most interesting process which is very much loved by my children. It is necessary to pound intensively the circle put in an accordion between palms. Foamiaran, when heating can change the form and remember that which it will be given. And we, in this case, are interested in natural "lokhmatost" of petals.

After an active sminaniye, there comes the phase of assembly of a flower. By means of a wire we gather lepestochka.

We bind a wire and we tighten at the bud basis.

We cut out from the sheet of foamiran of green color small pryamougolnichek for a stalk and two very narrow stripes for leaves. We wrap a wire in green foamiran. It is possible to trim from one of the parties the edge cloves. This party has to be located under a bud, creating sepals. We paste leaves. It is possible to drip several droplets of glue in the center of a bud and to give it the "finished" look.

The floret is ready. Now we place it on a St.George's Ribbon. It is possible to decorate with a small bow at the floret basis.
