The Picture of Dorian Gray

I wanted to read this work after viewing of the movie. Novel of Oscar Wilde "The Picture of Dorian Gray". And here it, my charm.
Fantastically rich and beautiful language, it was a pleasure to read. Periodically I postponed the book to consider read.
Was included in the list of movies which I want to watch this film thanks to Colin Firth who plays lord Henry (as always excellently). The statements of henry bewitched me, for some reason there was a wish to write out them in a notebook and to re-read until I do not remember them.

When we are happy, we are always kind; but when we are kind, we are not always happy.

The life purpose — self-expression. To show the essence — here for what we live in all completeness. And in our century people began to be afraid of themselves. They forgot that the supreme duty is a debt to by itself. Certainly, they are merciful. They will feed hungry, will dress the beggar. But their own souls are nude and starve to death. We lost courage. And maybe, we never had it. Fear of public opinion, this basis of morals and fear of god, fear on which the religion keeps — here that dominates over us.

Young and incredibly beautiful Dorian Gray comes to London and gets under influence of the adventurer of lord Uotton. It inspired in the young man that a secret of success and Dorian happiness — in his beauty, it will help to get all pleasures of the world. Dorian concludes the bargain with the Devil. The young man orders the portrait, and now all dirt of his life full of libertinism and criminal passions, will soil and spoil a cloth, his own person will remain eternally young and fine.
Proskitavshis all over the world in search of pleasures of 25 years, Dorian returns home. Taken unawares by strong feelings, he for the first time understood the value of mutual love. But ways to happiness an iron barrier were followed by the shadowy and mysterious past of Dorian …

The movie is called Dorian Gray, appeared in 2009. Dorian is played by Ben Barnes.
Naturally, all my attention was riveted on the main character
The atmosphere of the book and movie heavy, oppressive, but at the same time - fascinating. There did not pass the feeling that now something will occur, and it will be, not a, pleasant event.
The actor (on my feelings when reading) ideally fitted in. Beautiful. Well-cared. Haughty. Minion of fortune.
In spite of the fact that Ben the brown-eyed brunette, and in the book

Dorian Gray had angelic appearance: dark golden hair, blue eyes, scarlet lips.

it did not interfere with my perception of the hero at all.

Feeling of people it is much more interesting than their thoughts.

Temptation. Fall. Repentance. Love. Friendship. This movie is worth of viewing.
