Rebecca. Ex-wife's shadow.

The young poor girl marries the rich widower, the aristocrat Maximilian de Vinter. After a happy honeymoon they come to his manor of Menderli. The young wife is met unfriendly. It seems, everything is impregnated with presence of the first wife here, Rebecca who tragically died a year ago.
The estate lives on the rules established by Rebecca. The fireplace is lit in those rooms where the first wife of Maxim liked to be. The lunch is picked up for its taste. And the husband turns pale at the mention of a name of his first wife. All say around about how she was improbable is beautiful, clever and aristocratical. Its manners were ideal.

And here the new wife is painfully timid, ordinary and ineptly puts on. Servants are whispered at her behind the back, and the housekeeper Mrs. Denvers, faultlessly carrying out the duties, does not hide hatred to the new hostess.

However I will tell about another. Mini-series (2 series) Rebecca of production of Italy. Came out in 2008.
It will not be compared to the book though often I meet responses that it is the best screen version. In the novel the narration is led from the first person, we see other heroes eyes of the heroine and also all her experiences before us.
It is difficult to reflect it in the movie. The best in series actors. Incredibly lovely main character.

From minuses - prolixity while some interesting moments from the novel are missed, and the final is crumpled. In the novel there is tension in some scenes which in the movie is lost. In general, I lacked the atmosphere.


And the main thing - in series of not considerably internal change of the heroine which is in the novel.
But if to consider series as the melodrama and not to wait for the thriller, then it is quite quite good.
