Sobinka-Osobinka

Hi everyone!!!
Here and I decided to share with you the story about the small town in which I was born and I live still.
On the bank of the beautiful picturesque Klyazma River in the Vladimir region there is a small town with the unusual name Sobinka.


The history of the city began in the 19th century. In last times the place where the city is located, was considered as impassable because of the dense woods and swamps, it was called as Sobinska (Sobenna, Sobiny) as a heathland which name, according to one of versions comes from a man's name With? a bin (meets in sources since the 15th century), and on another — from the words "special", "special".
In 1856 brothers Matvei and Luka Losevy bought for 2500 rubles silver the site of the Sobinsky heathland at its owner, the count Alexander Nikolaevich Zubov, for the purpose of construction of cotton-mill here. And already on October 19, 1858 the spinning mill of association of the Sobinsky manufactory was open.
Along with factory the settlement arose and developed: housing for workers was under construction, the hospital, school, Church of the Resurrection, in the 1860th years were built the floating bridge through Klyazma and the stone road.



On September 18, 1939 the industrial settlement of Sobinka was given the status of the city.
And now from history we will return to the present and I suggest you to visit modern Sobinka who underwent many transformations during the existence.


I suggest to begin with entrance


Through the Klyazma River to the city we are seen off by the bridge which once looked so


Klyazma is Ochi's inflow, once it was very deep and navigable, now it decently crushed


But as before remained very picturesque and very beautiful


Further at entrance the view of the main square opens


The Recreation center is on the square at us


By the way, its appearance not really also changed


In the same place the factory building is seen


In the same place there is a monument to Soldiers of the Second World War and an eternal flame


And a monument to Karl Marx in honor of which the area is also called


Also on the way of deep into city, the working barracks of 1892 — 1898 of construction known are distinguished from locals as "corridors".


Near the area there is a building of the former Church of the Resurrection in which high school No. 1 nowadays is placed. The church was built at the initiative of founders of the Sobinsky manufactory of brothers Losev after formation of the settlement shortly and worked till 1923. At church since the end of the 19th century there was a shelter for orphan girls, and in the years of the war in this building the hospital for the Soviet soldiers was placed.


And not so long ago the new church in honor of an icon of the Majestic Mother of God on the river bank was constructed


In the same place the Obelisk is located


The monument to the won Soldier representing a feat of the workers who did not come back from fronts of the Great Patriotic War is placed into Karl Marx Square at the building of factory. On May 9, 1995 on the square the memorial of the heroes-sobintsev who died in the years of war was open.

And quite recently the monument to brothers was established by Losev, to founders of our city


And from both outskirts of the city the most beautiful woods are located.
