"To Alya! I can do everything! I never lose!"

Unfortunately, movies of the Russian production not really impress me recently. Among them really very poorly worthy. But the movie "Poddubny" (2014) under Gleb Orlov's direction unambiguously is worth of viewing.

The movie is biographic and tells about the unusual fate of the legendary fighter Ivan Maksimovich Poddubny. The leading role is played by the famous actor Mikhail Porechenkov. As he admitted, when shooting he was trained much, by preparation he struggled with real fighters. More than once was traumatized. But it was worth it: Porechenkov managed to get used to the role completely.


The husband with my mother-in-law watched this movie at movie theater, it was recommended to me many times. I somehow turned to all this time a deaf ear, thought that the movie will be not so interesting to me. As it appeared, in vain. In one of evenings I nevertheless decided to look at it.

The movie begins with shots of the childhood of Poddubny when the little boy runs away from five children who attacked it. Ivan's father is severe with him, instead of pity he meets the son with reproaches: "One against hundred – fight!... And that did not see female your tears!", - he says and beats with a lash. Manual of the father never to be given will play a role and in the future of Ivan.

Ivan's mother is shown extraordinary soft, kind and sensual. She does not contradict the words of the husband, but nevertheless caresses the son, says that got down you should not be ashamed.

Further we move already to adulthood of Ivan when he works as the loader. On circus representation Ivan comes as the volunteer for fight against the acting athlete and defeats him. From this point it is employed in circus. Here it meets the future wife, the acrobat Masha acting under Mimi's pseudonym. Masha is the daughter of noble parents who ran away from the house for the sake of circus life.


The managing director of circus Tverdokhlebov was cunning too: that to leave him, it is necessary to pay money. The same contract with it was made also by Poddubny, but only he did not read the contract as he is not able. But Ivan takes the by force: Tverdokhlebova forces to eat contracts. So Masha and Ivan go to Odessa to enter new troupe.


Masha is by sight very fragile girl. Actually in her there is so much force and courage how many not will be in any man. She supports Poddubny all the time. "To Alya! I can do everything! I never lose!" - words which she every time awakens new forces in Ivan. The same words she pulls out Ivan from lunatic asylum when after false loss Poddubny "retires into oneself".


The love is the only thing before what Poddubny gives up. He very long torments himself for the fact that after the family quarrel Masha loses vigilance and perishes at a performance. Ivan long sits before hospital with the cooled-down wife's body. This moment of the movie moved me to tears …

Why I remembered this movie during the competition? Because Poddubny is that movie which learns to be given, go never towards the aim and to love! The love in many respects makes us such what we are, and lifts on new tops!
