Vsevolod Chaplin called legalization of abortions a damnation

The question of abortion is permanently sharply criticized by church. Moreover, some representatives of ROC believe that legalization of abortions attracts a damnation for the country. So, the day before the chairman of Department of the Moscow patriarchy of relationship of Church and society (OVTsO), the archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said at a press conference that legalization of abortions - one of the reasons of numerous problems of Russia.

"Abortion is one of the reasons that Russia underwent on itself a damnation in the XX century. In 1920 our country first-ever allowed abortions, then it was RSFSR, and here all XX century it endured on itself heavy disasters" — Chaplin told.

The priest also stands up for a conclusion of abortion from the system of obligatory medical insurance.

At the same time Chaplin explains that the compromise is possible: if the woman has medical indicators for abortion commission and also if it is about rape or incest.
"The state has no right to force people to pay something that contradicts their conscience. The doctor can refuse to perform abortion if it contradicts his conscience; in the same way people should not take part through transfer of means which they earned, in what contradicts their conscience" — Chaplin argues.

"Often try to hide the truth that abortion is a murder. It is clear, that those whose conscience is dirty do not want to hear this truth — the archpriest emphasized. — It is important to us to achieve that the truth about what occurs during abortion — murder of the person — extended in masses".

According to the priest, society has to know that "not born baby already lives, has feelings, understands danger, seeks to live".
