Today's princesses smell in the same way as we.

Сегодняшние принцессы пахнут точно так же, как мы с вами.
From history of smells

Perfumery originates in Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece where aromas were used for the whole range of procedures: when embalming, in the hygienic and therapeutic purposes, well and, of course, for seduction. The legendary Greek ferryman Faon by means of the bottle of perfume received as a gift from the goddess of love Aphrodite managed to subdue beautiful Safo — the poetess from the island of Lesbos.

The huge contribution to business of development of perfumery was made by Persians and Arabs: exactly in the east for the first time learned to do aromatic oils and essences. Then spirits get into Ancient Rome where are actively used not only as aromas, but also as curative substances (not accidentally sellers of aromas at the same time were also druggists).
Romans invented also the glass bottle of perfume which reached our days. On squares of the antique cities fountains of pink water beat. On Neron's feasts during a meal over the heads of guests started white pigeons with the wings moistened in fragrant water.

Recipes of preparation of aromatic substances can be found in the Old Testament. Spirits contact many historic figures. In the X century B.C. the queen Savskaya gave as a gift to the tsar Solomon a precious casket with aromas. And Alexander of Macedon got such casket as a military trophy.

With the advent of Christianity to spirits began to treat as something thoughtless though aromas are still used in religious practices. In Europe perfumery art practically disappears, but in the east it reaches the greatest blossoming. But as relations between different regions get stronger, it is impossible to conceal precious liquid already: crusaders through Venice import it into Europe again. In 1615 the first recipe of lavender water appeared here.
Among clients of east sellers of perfumery there were most high-ranking Europeans. At the same time the French were the best judges and the best pupils of perfumery production. And France became the new capital of spirits. That it remains to this day.

Aromas of blue blood

Within many centuries spirits were considered as luxury therefore owners of blue blood were the first customers, consumers and at the same time advertizing faces of perfumery products.
It is considered that the fashion for spirits was entered by Ekaterina Medici. A certain magician René le Florentin mixed for it smells in any order, and the queen chose pleasant. By the way, smothered at that time generally gloves.

Jean-François Ubigan is considered the first official court perfumer — he humoured smells Marie Antoinette who entered fashion for the flavored bathtubs, the scented kerchiefs and special fragrant bags which carried under clothes.

Later the English Queen Victoria, Napoléon III and the Russian emperor Alexander III to whom aromas "An imperial bouquet" and "Cologne of the Russian Empire" were devoted were clients of the house of Houbigant. One more perfumery house — Creed founded in 1760 supplied with fragrant water the empress Evgenia, the empress of Austria Elizabeth and other crowned persons. The house safely lived up to now and today gives an opportunity for all comers to order individual aroma (the truth, for this purpose it is necessary to register in the long list of expecting and to order at least ten liters of spirits).

In the 19th century in France three more legendary perfumery houses appeared. And everyone had eminent patrons. The house of Guerlain endowed with aromas the empress Evgenia, Coudray — Adelaide Orleanskaya and the Queen Victoria, and Roger & Gallet — Napoleon Bonaparte with Josephine. Napoleon in general was a maniac of smells: in a day he transferred up to 12 liters of toilet water, and be in exile on St Helena's island when it finished cologne, the emperor thought up own recipe with addition of a bergamot. By the way, it is considered that Napoleon invented also the term "toilet water".

Today and royal persons no more than one or two, and spirits for them nobody invents — modern princesses and duchesses smell sweet as the same, as we.
