The New Zealand Maori of Moko Makiyazh "the Woman - the Soldier"

this time I decided to make the unusual make-up stylized under a traditional tattoo of indigenous people of Maori.

It is a little history

The Maori tattoo or moko is considered sacred at these people. In the beginning the tatuirovaniye was an element of breeding identification, but over time turned into a symbol of national revival. It is very seldom possible to meet Maori without tattoo, I was convinced of it.

Patterns moko, from arrangement tell about position of the person in his family tree of the tribe and its status.

The word "moko" most likely came from a name of the deity of Ruaumoko - not born child of gods Ranks and the Father. As this deity of Ruaumoko was connected with earthquakes and volcanoes which cover the earth with scars.

At Maori only men put moko on all face. For the woman of Maori in ancient times was obligatory to cover moko lips, a chin and a part of a neck. And lips had to be black. The woman reckoned with usual lips as ugly.
Interestingly, but once the leader of one tribe could send to the leader of other tribe of Maori tattooed... potato, as the sign of the invitation to war against the hostile tribe.
The head of the killed enemies on whom was not moko threw out, and the heads with moko were not only a symbol of successful hunting and a nice victory, but also changed them for the European muskets.

However it is time to return to my make-up, and on this optimistic note I pass to the following section.

All make-up stroke of one pencil

So it turned out that I decided to make this make-up spontaneously. So to speak, trial option. I was not sure at all that I will be able to draw to myself on a face something decent. But just in case made video.



Process captured me, but as a result I used only a tiny bit of my pencil for an eyeliner. Well and of course, for a final photoshoot I tinted eyelashes Estee Lauder's ink.

I was impatient to do this make-up on Saturday when the husband cut a grass in a garden and also it was necessary to clean and wash up a kiwi-tab as we planned to move it to other place. And here I with the personal belongings for shooting.



And when the husband saw me in a fighting coloring of the Female Soldier, he decided that it is better to be more tender with me


Well, I do not know how works moko, but as soon as I stopped painting lips and brought an image to readiness (in my understanding), there was an energy inflow! It was improbable. I wanted to pull up trees, to fly to the Moon or at least to bring order. And I began to clean a kiwi-tab.

The woman is a Soldier

I applied the drawing on a chin, spying on the picture with the image of the Maori woman with moko.


And here the drawing with curls on a temple turned out spontaneously on one breath and if I had more time, I would bring it to perfection. And so the sketch turned out.


Anyway, but I was very pleased with the turned-out image. Unusual, fighting, lightening the mood and the level of adrenaline.


The people Maori have several amusing traditions. For example, they prefer not to greet at a meeting hands, and to touch each other by noses.

Other custom - to show the force a language vysovyvaniye. The length language, the soldier is stronger. So the whole tribes before fight put out tongues with frightening shouts to crack spirit of the opponent.


So, girls, your opinion is interesting to me: whether such varmant of a make-up will be suitable for a meeting of New year? Year of the Rooster... And the Rooster - the fellow soldier!
