Style: A LA RUSSE

The la russe style holds a specific place in the world of fashion. The Russian style with all its classical attributes: kokoshniks, sundresses, fur caps, Turgenev girls, pearls and imperial persons, bears in itself a huge set of the ideas for processing. The collection the fall-winter 2013-2014 from Valentino presented on the Parisian fashion week became a harbinger of "the Russian boom" in haute couture. The designer was inspired to Gzhel well-known for the whole world, having presented smart dresses with lace and patterns and having diluted white-blue tone in black, red color and prints from the world of flora.







The Russian fashion designers, and earlier deriving inspiration from Slavic culture promoted further, having remembered Russia 18-19 centuries. Some to an image of the Russian winter: dresses in a floor, volume skirts and blouses in pastel tones are complemented with snow patterns, openwork boleros, scarfs, brooches. Also fashion designers and Russia did not disregard of the 19th century: romantic dresses of "Turgenev young ladies" and airy blouses contrast with hussar uniforms and boots in style of a military.



Militarized "a la rus" in images stretches from the hussar ballad to "Quiet Don" further, to the Soviet army.


The Russian style, original, colourful and expressive, did not leave indifferent both designers of eminent jewelry houses, and modern handicraftsmen. The love to products in the equipment of filigree, the scan, enamel, with enamel, with use of natural materials (a tree, textiles), with pearls, with ornamental stones, with beads and soutache tapes revives. Forms and ornaments are various – classical nested dolls, Pavlovo Posad shawls, various ornaments, kokoshniks, Gzhel, Khokhloma, zhostovo and many other things.


The Russian style not only dictates trends to the world of fashion, it gets much more deeply into society – traditions, ceremonies are remembered. Also weddings in the Russian style became so relevant. The set of images of brides and grooms is created, a great number of skilled workers work over they are dresses, shirts are sewed, jewelry and belts are got on, elements of ceremonies are created. Now the bride and the groom get round dances, sing Russian-national songs, give to drink honey of guests and jump through a fire.



The Russian style will dictate fashion for a long time, in it the generosity and wealth, pensiveness and emotionality of mysterious Russian soul is reflected.
