Vitamin C in cosmetics is different---Ascorbic acid or its stabilized derivative forms.
This post is devoted to pure Ascorbic acid.


Why our skin needs Ascorbic acid, think, it is not necessary to speak.
Well, and who does not know yet, can easily find information.
I use Ascorbic acid courses, and its derivatives on a constant basis.
It is all about levels rn: pure Ascorbic acid needs a low rn - about 3.4. If above, it is difficult to it to remain stable and to perform the functions.
And here derivative substances from Ascorbic acid quietly work at a neutral rn from 5.5 to 7. In it their plus, of course. But on action they are weaker.
However, not each skin is capable to sustain effect of pure Ascorbic acid just because it is acid.
I use it not more often than 3 times a week, strictly in the evenings. Because it strong, but very unstable also collapses on light and even from oxygen.

Producers of cosmetics learned to stabilize it temporarily. But for the short period of time! Not longer than 3 months, the color with light till color of rust will not change yet.
If you see that at structure there is ferulovy acid, then your means is stabilized and will be effective.
And if also vitamin E, then stabilization double.
And all the same, means with pure Ascorbic acid have a short expiration date after opening and even after release from factory.
It is necessary to hurry to use that it was not necessary to throw out more than a half of a bottle. (The oxidized means cannot be used categorically!).

The answer is: any derivative substance is not effective so as clean Ascorbic.

There is a lot of brands... It is easy to become puzzled and give in to suggestion that qualitative means cannot cost little.




And already a prices passed for one hundred euros... For what??? For antiscorbutic vitamin which is oxidized quicker than we manage to use it?)))

Skinceuticals offers 15% ascorbic acid in a bottle with the pipette, in structure vitamin E and ferulovy acid for stabilization. Plus gialuronka and phenoxyethanol (preservative).

I used to a bottom 2 budgetary serums with Ascorbic acid.
One from The Ordinary from 8% Ascorbic acid and an alpha arbutiny. It is waterless serum, strictly night.




Impressions of application---it is unpleasant, unclear and painful. Though I saw result---the general clarification of tone of skin and pigmentation. Well and protection against free radicals which is not felt, but it is real.
The price is the budgetary, 10 English pounds, but I do not repeat purchase.

The second and favourite serum from 23% of Ascorbic acid and 1.5% of ferulovy acid.
Garden of Wisdom brand.



Packing is opaque, there is a batcher. Used about 3 months and it suddenly ended. Fortunately, did not darken because I stored it in the refrigerator after opening of a bottle.

The photo of texture is made at the beginning of use, it not colourless, slightly yellowish and translucent.
Stored its all the time in the refrigerator, as well as it is recommended. Also could use to a bottom, it was not oxidized.
But as soon as ended, I took out a bottle from the refrigerator and residues of serum in a nose of the batcher darkened in couple of days.
Means, temperature of storage and lack of a daylight play a key role.

Feelings when drawing not the most pleasant, it is acid and it burns down. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less.
Applied to clean skin after washing, passing tonic or thermal water. To me it is important that serum contacted directly to skin.
Serum has operating level rn 3.1-3.4.
Left it to work, then blocked slightly sour cream (rn 4).

Empty bottle---the label turned yellow, was oxidized from my touches after putting serum.

By all means I will repeat purchase.

My serum has a double (and can them a little) from other Timeless brand.
Serum from 20% of Ascorbic acid and on 1.5% ferulovy and vitamin E.



Cost is 2.5 times higher.

Structure for comparison. There is a conductor - glycol is sawn through. It is not pleasant to me. For the rest normal, working structure.
The bottle was with the pipette earlier, but the producer replaced packing with opaque and with the batcher.
It is the most successful packing.

This serum is considered the world best-seller, is tested and approved by the best bloggers and serum from Paula's choice bore comparison with serums, eminent, but weaker on structure, among them 15%.

Naturally, everything is individual and all of us are different.
But Ascorbic acid everywhere same, differences in % a ratio and other ingredients in structures. And, of course, in the price.

I would like to try both Timeless, and Paula's choice, and Skinceuticals... And Korean brands...
But meanwhile serum from Garden of Wisdom completely suits me on qualities/price/results/feelings.
