Women began to make up lips in so extreme antiquity that scientists seriously consider the version that the savages living in caves were the first women of fashion. Archeologists found the primitive and rough female images (relating to the Stone Age) with the lips painted by paint. And the very first lip color was found at excavation of the Neolithic era.

Lips, their color and a form always were the focus of attention. In Ancient Egypt the small graceful mouth was fashionable what we can be convinced of, considering frescos and portraits of the queen Neffertiti which reached us. Lip color in Ancient Egypt was done of beeswax and minium - iron oxide that naturally adversely affected health. In the same Ancient Egypt paint from the cochineal insect – females of an insect in the form of the small klopik living on elevated bodies of a cochineal cactus was safe. Paint was called a carmine.

Now the natural carmine is not used by production of lipstick any more, alas, the show is run by chemical dyes. And, in spite of the fact that we are convinced of their full safety, everyone at heart understands that chemistry be completely safe cannot …

But earlier the situation was much worse, for example, the Middle Ages and later lead, sulfur, mercury were a part of lipstick … Though the composition of lipstick which was made for Ekaterina Medici's yard by the famous prophet Nostradamus is still unknown.

In Russia in the ancient time lipstick was done of dry beet, of juice of beet and carrots, mixing them with glycerin.

Men for all life, according to the estimates of scientists, eat 4.5 kg of lipstick.

Scientists also claim that lipstick destroys enamel of teeth. Researchers from Brazil selected the most known samples of lipstick and found practically in all brands solid paraffin – the substance harmful to enamel of teeth. In spite of the fact that the level of content of paraffin in lipstick low, over time it leads to caries as literally sticks to the surface of teeth, connecting to microscopic particles of food and pathogenic microbes. Gradually all this leads to cracks on enamel and within a year big carious cavities can be formed. Completely only regular toothbrushing can remove paraffin.

But, even knowing about risk when using of lipstick, 90% of women of it will not refuse.

However it is necessary to remember that it is necessary to delete completely lipstick not only for the night, before going to bed, but also before each new make-up during the day.

In the winter and in the fall before making up lips it is necessary to grease them with fat cream at first.
