"I too almost a bear, only small."
The first immigrants on the continent gave this small animal various names, such as "idler", "monkey" and "bear". Long time there was a myth that koalas are relatives of bears. However it not so. These animals are the only representatives of the family. Koalas live in eucalyptus forests, and their favourite delicacy are leaves of these evergreen trees. And though more than 700 types of eucalyptuses grow in Australia, koalas eat leaves only of 50 types as leaves of separate eucalyptus trees are extremely toxic. From leaves of a koala receive a necessary amount of water for activity, and in pure form these animals consume water in small quantities or do not use at all.
